MJ Sampson is Mitchell Sampson, a writer and producer from Terre Haute, Indiana, now working out of a farmhouse an hour west of Indianapolis. Computer science and jazz studies at Washington University in St. Louis, then straight into a room full of guitars.
Every part of a record happens in that room. The writing, the guitars, the bass, the programming, the vocals and the mix. The songs move between country, indie and melodic trap, and they all end up in the same place: late, honest and a little too specific.
